Career change & returning to nursing?

Is there anyone here who has returned to nursing? I left once because I was working both in a hospital and in emergency services at the same time and felt that I simply couldn't cope and couldn’t provide a better life for myself without making changes in my life. Now my savings are filled, but my soul feels empty and I sometimes have thoughts of coming back after being away for 4 years. Currently, I have a little fear, as I haven't practiced much, although I have helped a bit with a family doctor I know. Please share your experience. Is anyone even waiting for me to come back and what is the attitude of others when you have returned? I read and hear how there are pressures in hospital work, but the desire to help is still strong.
